Yoga and Pilates have been shown in a recent study to ease back pain in as little as one to two sessions per week. The study looked at 95 adults with moderate to severe lower back pain. The group was asked to do a yoga class once or twice a week for 12 weeks. The study concluded that all participants found relief and a certain percentage were able to take less back pain medication as a result. The study also found that participants that did yoga at home for their second session were just as successful as those who took a second class in a week for maintaining the benefits of yoga for lower back pain.
